Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit, an Indian actress famous for Hum Aapke Hing Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most well-known Indian actors. The actress began her career in the late 1980s, and rose into prominence thanks to her character in the Tezaab film, in which she appeared alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. The next film she appeared in was Dil in which she shared screen space with Aamir. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she started learning dancing at a young age. As a teen, she attempted acting, however most films she attempted to make did not succeed. Eventually, she found success in Indian filmmaking and rose to the top. After her marriage the actress took time to rest from her acting career until she returned. In recent times, she was in a prominent role on the film Gulaab Gang. The film was about struggles faced by women across India. Dixit has been nominated 15 times in the Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of the awards. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit. It is the fourth most prestigious civil award in India. Her fame is based on her charitable work as well.
