Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a tradition that blends family scholarship football and community service. Selmon is the son from Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They had him raised on their property in Eufala. In football, he played alongside three siblings for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. The year 1973 was the first time Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for just one season. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the nation's top lineman. Oklahoma has won two National Championships throughout the three years he was a lineman. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon holds a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout his time in college. After college he settled in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers was all-pro three times and started a business career. In 1988, he joined the ranks of an account relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following associations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 The Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 among America's best young males. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs 256 pounds. He was captain of his university team in 1975. He was promoted to assistant director of Athletics for the University of South Florida, in 1993. In 1988 He was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into both his way into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 in 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Senior. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
